February 27, Fineko/abc.az. The Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) has started preliminary control measures regarding electronic money and payment organizations.

ABC.AZ informs that those measures are taken in accord with the Law on Payment Services & Payment Systems. The CBA has so far issued perpetual licenses to 14 companies to operate as an e-money organization, 8 companies as a payment organization, and processing center AzəriCard LLC as an e-money organization and payment system operator.

Thus, the number of organizations licensed in this field has reached 23. Currently, 8 organizations are waiting for a license.
