Spain reduces working week to 37.5 hours

February 5, Fineko/abc.az. The Spanish government has agreed to reduce the official working week to 37.5 hours without changing wages.

ABC.AZ informs that during the weekly meeting, the Cabinet Ministers approved the reduction of the working week from 40 hours.

"This is a proposal to live better, work less and be much more productive and more economically efficient," Labor Minister Yolande Diaz said.

This measure has yet to be approved in Parliament. Diaz has prepared a plan to reduce the working week by the end of 2025.

Earlier it was reported that the authorities of the Japanese city of Tokyo plan to introduce a four-day working week for government officials from April 2025. Thus, they expect to increase the birth rate.
