ABC.AZ informs that the American post did not provide any explanation for the reasons for the suspension.

At that, according to the publication, the reception of letters and parcels from China continues.

It is still unclear whether this step relates to Beijing's duties, which were decided in response to duties on Chinese goods imposed earlier by the administration of U.S. President Donald Trump, the SCMP notes.

On February 1, Trump signed an executive order imposing tariffs on goods from Canada, China and Mexico. According to the document, additional duties of 10% are imposed on goods from China. In response to these measures, the State Council of the People's Republic of China issued a decree according to which, from February 10, 2025, the country will impose duties on imports of American energy resources. Oil will be subject to a duty of 10%, coal and LNG - 15%. In addition, a 10% duty will be levied on American multicompact cars, pickups and agricultural machinery.
