January 14, Fineko/abc.az. According to the World Trade Organization (WTO), the volume of world trade in 2023 amounted to $31.6 trillion (1.2% less than in 2022).
At that, in 2024, the world trade grew by 2.6%, and in 2025 it is expected to grow by 3.3%.
The deterioration in global trade was influenced by decrease in trade in commodities: by 6%, to $24 trillion, ABC.AZ reports.
At that, this drop was offset by strong growth in the commercial services sector: by 9%, to $7.5 trillion.
In particular, the volume of trade in commercial services has increased due to the resumption of international travel and strong growth in the segment of services provided in digital format.
According to WTO estimates, global exports of digital services grew by 9% over the year to $4.3 trillion.
The share of digital services exports made up 13.8% of the total global trade in goods and services.
