January 9, Fineko/abc.az. The second stage of integration of the payment systems of Russia and Iran is to finish by June 30, 2025, when Mir cardholders will be able to use them to pay for goods and services in Iran.

ABC.AZ informs that on July 6, 2024, chairman of the Central Bank of Iran Mohammad Reza Farin announced the completion of work on integration of the national payment systems of Moscow and Tehran. According to the chair, unification of Russian system Mir and Iran’s Shetab will be realized by three stages.

On November 11, 2024, the first stage of integration of the payment systems of Russia and Iran was reached, although its implementation was initially scheduled for the end of August 2024.
