December 16, Fineko/abc.az. On Sunday evening, bitcoin reached a new historical high amid expectations of an interest rate cut by the U.S. Federal Reserve, ABC.AZ informs, referring to CNBC.

According to Coin Metrics, the price of the leading cryptocurrency increased more than by 4%, reaching $105,207. Earlier, it set a new record of $106,509.

Ether also grew by 4%, approaching the $4,000 mark. The CoinDesk 20 index, reflecting the position in the cryptocurrency market as a whole, increased by 4%.
