Direct purchases of iPhones from U.S. increased sharply in Azerbaijan

November 19, Fineko/abc.az. Azerbaijan has dramatically increased imports of mobile phones from the U.S. compared with 2023.

ABC.AZ informs that in the first 3 quarters of this year, Azerbaijan imported 3,150 smartphones for $3.557 million from this country (407 smartphones for $415,000 for the 2023 same term).

Mobile phones imported by Azerbaijan directly from the U.S. are mainly smartphone models manufactured by Apple Inc. However, in some cases, these U.S.-made brands are locally produced in China and marketed.

The average cost of one smartphone in the first 3 quarters of this year was $1,129, or 1,919 manats at the current exchange rate of the Central Bank.

Considering that the average price of a smartphone for the 2023 same term was $1,019 (1,732.9 manats), it can be noted that this year prices are 11% higher than a year earlier.
