September 7, Fineko/abc.az. Azerbaijan is introducing a new subsidy mechanism aimed at facilitating the entry of agricultural products into foreign markets. The state will compensate part of the costs of local producers for obtaining international certificates.

The mechanism applies to Global G.A.P., FSSC 22000, HACCP, GRASP, BRCGS, FSMA and international organic certificates.

The amount of the subsidy will range from 7,000 to 36,000 manats, depending on the type of certificate.

If the certificate remains in active status, an additional subsidy of 10% of the initial support amount will be paid to the manufacturer annually. For example, if 36,000 manats were allocated for obtaining the certificate, the annual payment for its maintenance will amount to 3,600 manats.

The new mechanism is designed to reduce the financial burden on local producers seeking to enter European and other foreign markets with high product requirements, as well as increase the competitiveness of Azerbaijani products in foreign markets.
