October 23, Fineko/abc.az. Currently, work is underway to connect six or seven Azerbaijani banks to SIMA Imza.
ABC.AZ reports, quoting Tamerlan Meshedigasanli, the head of the Products & Services Department at Asiatelecom LLC, during the conference on "Innovative solutions for sustainable microfinance".
"Currently, about 10 banks are connected to SIMA Imza. In parallel, connections are being made with another 6-7 banks. For citizens, the use of this solution is free of charge. Citizens will not pay any fees. With banks, this will be regulated within our partnership," Meshedigasanli said.
He added that the small number of banks connected to this system at the moment relates not to payments, but to the digitalization process.
"Banks and credit organizations in Azerbaijan need digitalization. They need to be digitalized so that SIMA can be integrated," he said.
