June 24, Fineko/abc.az. In 12 years, from 2011 to 2023, sanctions caused damage to the Iranian economy in the amount of $1.2 trillion.

ABC.AZ reports with reference to foreign media that the statement was made by Hussein Selahvarzi, the former head of the Iranian Chamber of Commerce. This information was made public a few days before the presidential elections.

According to experts, the new president to be elected will have to cope with difficult negotiations with the West over the lifting of sanctions. Selahvarzi stressed that not much attention was paid to the issue of sanctions during the election campaign in Iran.

Presidential elections will be held in Iran on June 28.
