Retail sales in EU declined

February 6, Fineko/abc.az. Retail sales in the European Union in December 2023 decreased by 1% compared with the previous month and by 0.7% against December 2022.

ABC.AZ reports that this is stated in Eurostat’s retail sales data for December.

Thus, retail sales in the eurozone for the specified period decreased by 1.1% in December versus November and by 0.8% against December 2022.

Among the EU countries, the largest drop in retail sales in December compared with the previous month was recorded in Slovenia by 3.6%, Denmark by 3.2% and Luxembourg by 3.1%.

Year-on-year, retail sales fell by 15% in Slovenia, 4.1% in Estonia and 3.8% in Slovakia.
