January 18, Fineko/abc.az. In 2023, the total number of Azerbaijani citizens who went abroad increased by 25.5% against 2022 up to 1,868,700 people.

ABC.AZ reports with reference to the State Statistics Committee that last year the rate of travelers to Russia grew 1.5-fold, to Georgia by 31.8%, to Türkiye by 24.3%, and the number of visitors to Iran decreased by 27.7%.

43.6% of the country's citizens visited Türkiye, 21.5% - Russia, 9% - Georgia, 7.6% - Iran, 18.3% - other countries. 64.9% of travelers were men and 35.1% - women.

67.5% of Azerbaijani citizens traveled by air, 30% by rail and road, 2.5% by sea.
