September 15, Fineko/abc.az. The proposed draft amendments to the Law on State Duty have been discussed at today’s meeting of the Milli Majlis Committee on Economy, Industry & Entrepreneurship and recommended for a plenary session.

ABC.AZ reports that commenting on the changes, MP Vugar Bayramov said that this implies a reduction in the amount of the state duty for registration of mobile devices imported into the country by an individual for personal consumption.

According to the MP, the changes are of social nature:

"Thus, the registration fee has been cut from 20 to 15 manats for mobile devices with market price of no more than $100 without photo, video and Internet access functions, from 30 to 20 manats at market price of up to $100, from 50 to 30 manats at market price of $101 to $200, from 60 to 40 manats at price from $201 to $400, from 70 manats to 50 manats at market price from $401 to $700, from 100 to 70 manats at market price from $701 to $1,000 and from 150 to 100 manats at market price over $1,001.

This means that after the amendment is adopted, the fee for registering expensive mobile phones will be 100 manats, not 150 manats. This will lead not only to certain reduction in the cost of mobile phones, but also to  reduction in citizens' expenses.”
