August 23, Fineko/abc.az. In January-July 2023, 1,143,600 foreigners and stateless persons arrived in Azerbaijan from 183 countries, which is 37.4% more than in the same period of 2022.
ABC.AZ reports with reference to the State Statistics Committee that 32.8% of arrivals are from the Russian Federation, 18.2% from Türkiye, 7.4% from Iran, 4.9% from India, 4.7% from Georgia, 3.9% from Saudi Arabia, 2.4% from Kazakhstan, 2.3% from Pakistan, 2.1% from the United Arab Emirates, 1.8% from Uzbekistan, 1.5% each from Israel and Ukraine, 1.4% from Belarus, 1.3% from Kuwait, 1.2% each from Great Britain and Turkmenistan, 11.4% from other countries.
Of the total number of those who visited the country, 70.5% are men, 29.5% are women.
Compared to the same period last year, the number of arrivals from China increased 8.3 times, Turkmenistan - 3.8 times, India - 2.6 times, Belarus - 2 times, Uzbekistan - 1.9 times, Kazakhstan - 1.8 times, Russia - 1.7 times, Israel - 44.2%, USA - 38.7%, Georgia - 34.5%, Great Britain - 29.1%, Kuwait - 26.6%, Türkiye - 18.8%, UAE - 15.8%, Pakistan - 6.3%.
According to statistics, the tourist flow to Azerbaijan from the CIS countries rose 1.7-fold compared to the same period last year, reaching 477,100 people, the number of arrivals from the EU countries rose 36.5% to 57,200 people, the number of arrivals from Gulf countries dropped 8.6% to 185,400 people.
71.1% of foreigners and stateless persons who arrived in Azerbaijan used air transport, 27.6% used rail and road transport, 1.3% used sea transport.
