ABC.AZ reports that Deputy Minister of Digital Development & Transport Rahman Gummetov said this at today's Milli Majlis meeting during the discussion of the proposed amendments to the Law on Road Transport.

He said that the main purpose of the adoption of this law is to protect the rights of citizens, and the creation of a single taxi service is not stipulated: "There are no ideas about creating a single taxi service in this bill or in the activity of the ministry. It is necessary to pay increased attention to improving the quality of service in public transport. Public transport is not a profitable sector, so in many cases it is subsidized by the state. Today, discussions are underway on expanding public transport, launching high-speed trains and creating alternative public transport."
