August 25, Fineko/abc.az. Movement on the alternative road to the Lachin corridor, which the Azerbaijani government has already constructed, will be possible over the next week, Saleh Mammadov, Chairman of the Board of the State Agency of Azerbaijan Automobile Roads, said at the presentation of the road equipment and machinery purchased for road infrastructure projects in the Karabakh and East Zangezur economic regions, ABC.AZ informs.

"The alternative road, with 22 kilometers extending through the territory of Azerbaijan and 10 kilometers through Armenia without entering the city of Lachin, was built in just ten months. The Azerbaijani section of the alternative road was ready on August 16. However, since the Armenian side has not yet completed the 10 kilometers it was responsible for, the Azerbaijani side also implemented the construction of a 4.8-kilometer part connecting to the new road at the request of the Armenian community living in Karabakh," he added.
