July 14, Fineko/abc.az. The construction of the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway line is to be completed by the end of 2022. 

ABC.AZ reports that the Georgian edition of Business Media writes about it. Referring to the financial report of Marabda-Kartsakhi LLC, responsible for the project on the territory of Georgia, it was noted that a new date for the completion of construction work was agreed on 24 February 2022 at the 32nd meeting of the bilateral Coordination Council. 

According to the document, it is assumed that after the completion of the BTK project, 5 million tons of cargo will be transported at the first stage.
The report says that the infrastructure for handling containers and various types of cargo has been created at the Akhalkalaki station on the Georgian section of the railway.
