June 3, Fineko/abc.az. Azerbaijan has the potential to increase gas exports to Europe, ABC.AZ reports, quoting SOCAR first vice president, acting president Rovshan Najaf as saying this on the first day of the conference within the Baku Energy Forum.

Noting that Azerbaijan currently has sufficient gas potential for supplies, he noted that at the current stage it is impossible to transport gas through the Southern Gas Corridor beyond the planned volume:

"To transport additional volumes of gas, it is important to increase the capacity of the corridor. For this reason, one of the main tasks we face is to increase the SGC capacity. For this, the support of our European partners, buyers and international financial institutions is important. We are negotiating with our partners in the direction of increasing the attractiveness of the Caspian Sea."
