Up to 2,000 workers to be drawn to repair of Heydar Aliyev Oil Refinery

12:28 - 12.04.2022

April 12, Fineko/abc.az. The upgrade and reconstruction of SOCAR Heydar Aliyev Oil Refinery are ongoing. The upgrade is to increase production capacity of the refinery, provide the country with high-quality fuel conforming to the Euro-5 standard, minimize environmental impact, stable supply of raw materials to Azerikimiya and increase the export potential of petroleum products.

ABC.AZ reports that since 4 April 2022 the refinery has been stopped for scheduled capital repairs.

The overhaul of 2022 is carried out at the refinery after a long (more than one year) break, which sharply differs on volume and complexity of work from the repair work of previous years.

More than 2,000 workers from SOCAR and third-party organizations will be involved during the repair. SOCAR has taken the necessary measures to ensure uninterrupted provision of the country with appropriate motor fuel during the overhaul period.

Thus, a number of installations of the former Azerneftyag refinery, which are part of the structure of the refinery, will continue their work and will produce kerosene, diesel and gasoline in certain volumes.
