February 25, Fineko/abc.az. The State Tax Service under the Ministry of Economy refunded AZN 138.5 million of VAT to consumers through authorized banks in 2021 (AZN 33.4 million in 2020), ABC.AZ reports, citing Service’s head Orkhan Nazarli.

"Last year, turnover with online sales offices increased 1.8-fold compared with the previous year up to AZN 15.6 bn. The VAT Refund project plays an important role in this growth. This digital solution, closely coordinated with the project from angle of goals and objectives, has significantly simplified economic relations in the retail and catering sector," he emphasized.
