February 24, Fineko/abc.az. As of 1 January, Azerbaijan's external debt amounted to $8.135 bn (AZN 13.8 bn), or 14.9% of GDP.
ABC.AZ reports with reference to the Ministry of Finance that compared with the 2021 same term, the external public debt decreased by $685.8 million, or 5.8% of GDP.
As of 1 January, the country's domestic public debt reached AZN 3.068 bn, or 3.3% of GDP, that is, it increased by AZN 1.126 bn, or 0.6% of GDP year-on-year.
According to estimates, as a result, Azerbaijan’s total public debt totaled AZN 16.899 bn, or 18.2% of GDP, that is, it grew by AZN 39.4 million year-on-year, but decreased by 5.2% of GDP.
