February 11, Fineko/abc.az. "Preparation of a new Tax Code in Azerbaijan is a topical issue under discussion."

ABC.AZ reports that Samira Musayeva, deputy head of the State Tax Service at the Ministry of Economy, stated this in an interview for the local media.

She added that international requirements necessitate the preparation of a new code:

"With the change in the structure of the economy over the years, with the growth of innovation, with the improvement of international models to prevent multinational companies from withdrawing money outside the country, there is a need for innovations. I agree that taking into account such objective issues, numerous amendments have been made to the law, and sometimes for this reason, tax legislation may seem quite complicated to entrepreneurs. In order to make the legislation simpler and clearer, the issue of preparing a new Tax Code is on the agenda. We plan to prepare a new Tax Code taking into account the proposals and recommendations of entrepreneurs."

The valid Tax Code has been in force since 2001.
