Baku Metro reports on days when it did not operate because of pandemic

January 6, Fineko/abc.az. The Baku underground was out of passenger traffic for 377 days in the period of the pandemic.

ABC.AZ was informed at Baku Metro CJSC that in 2020, when the pandemic began, a number of restrictions were temporarily imposed on the operation of the Baku subway.

During three days on 29-31 March 2020 the Baku Metro trains operated on a 2-hour (07:00-09:00) and 3-hour (17:00-20:00) schedule, that is, instead of the 54 hours provided for by the schedule, 15 hours.

In the same year, passenger carriages were fully restricted three times.

The Baku Metro, which for the first time did not carry passengers from 1 April to 9 May, for the second time from 4 July to 14 September, and for the last time on 16 October of the same year, operated full-time.

During the periods of passenger transportation, starting in June, the doors of the stations remained closed on weekends.

So, in 2020, 198 passengers were transported, and in 2021 – 150 until 31 May, and then only 179 days, including weekends.

In general, during the pandemic, the Baku Metro was out of the passenger flow process for 377 days.
