December 29, Fineko/abc.az. A new road tunnel, Pirinkayalar, connecting the South Caucasus with Turkey will be launched today.

ABC.AZ reports that at the opening ceremony of the tunnel Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan will deliver speech in a videoconference format. The new 2,246-m long tunnel will connect the city of Artvin with Uzundere district of Erzurum province.

The tunnel will connect Eastern Anatolia from Erzurum-Artvin route to the Eastern Black Sea, as well as Turkey with the Caucasus through Georgia.
