December 28, Fineko/abc.az. The number of electric vehicles sold worldwide has increased, according to International Energy Agency’s president Fatih Birol.
He noted that in 2021, 10 (10%) of every 100 cars sold around the world were electric. For comparison, the share of electric vehicles in 2019 made up only 2%.
"Currently, the electric vehicle market is developing at the fastest pace in China. 15 out of every 100 cars sold in the country are electric. The EU and the U.S. are ranking the 2nd and the 3rd positions respectively on the pace of development," Birol emphasized.
