BTC operating costs increased

August 6, Fineko/abc.az. In the 1st half of 2021 operating costs on the operation of main export pipeline Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) totaled about $81 million (30% more versus Jan-Jun 2020), ABC.AZ reports with reference to BP-Azerbaijan.

In particular, over the past year operating expenses on the pipeline increased almost by 44% up to $69 million and capital expenditures decreased by 14% to $12 million.

Currently, the pipeline mainly carries ACG oil and condensate from Shah Deniz from Azerbaijan. In addition, other volumes of crude oil and condensate, including Turkmen, Russian and Kazakh oil, are transported via BTC.
