11 million tons of oil extracted from ACG oilfield block in 2021

August 6, Fineko/abc.az. Oil production at oilfield block Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli (ACG) reached about 85 million barrels (11 million tons) for the 1st half of 2021 (6.6% less compared with Jan-Jun 2020).

ABC.AZ iforms with reference to BP-Azerbaijan’s report that for the first 6 months of this year the production at different platforms was the following:

Chirag – an average of 30,000 b/d of oil (38,000 b/d for Jan-Jun 2020)

Central Azeri – 111,000 b/d (123,000 b/d),

West Azari – 118,000 b/d (122,000 b/d),

East Azeri – 78,000 b/d (66,000 b/d),

Deepwater Guneshli – 88,000 b/d (96,000 b/d),

West Chirag – 43,000 b/d (53,000 b/d).

In the 2nd quarter, as part of the annual ACG work program, the planned program of preventive work on the Western Azeri platform was successfully implemented.

According to the plan, production from the Western Azeri platform was suspended for about 13 days so that planned preventive, inspection and design work could be carried out effectively. This software has been completed in complete safety and on time so that the platform can remain safe, reliable and work for a long time without compromising the environment.

At the end of Q2 the field block ACG had a total of 131 oil-producing wells (2 more wells), 44 water-injection wells (2 more wells) and 8 gas-injection wells (1 more well).
