Size of Azerbaijan's external debt published

May 25, Fineko/abc.az. As of 1 January 2021 Azerbaijan's external debt amounted to $8.822 bn.

ABC.AZ reports that this is stated in the conclusion of the Accounts Chamber on the Bill on the implementation of State Budget 2020 and the annual report on the implementation of State Budget 2020.

As for the distribution of external public debt by type of foreign currency, 81.6% accounted for US dollars and 8.6% for euros.

At that, 4.4% of the national debt consists of special drawing rights of the IMF, 3.6% - Japanese yens, and the remaining 2% - other currencies.

As for these currencies, last year the external debt decreased by 3.9% in dollars, by 12.7% in pounds sterling and by 5.7% in other currencies.

External public debt in the euro and Japanese yen increased by 9.5% and 4.6%, respectively.
