February 18, Fineko/abc.az. The pandemic has had a negative impact on many industries, including the hotel sector.

ABC.AZ reports with reference to the State Statistics Committee that in this regard, a serious decline continued in the tourism sector of Azerbaijan.

In connection with the introduction of restrictive regime on the border with neighboring states, there is a lag in the performance of hotels and hotel-type facilities. The number of hotel accomodationsin Azerbaijan amounted to 999,800 in 2020 that is 3.3-fold less than in 2019.

The main part of hotel accomodation for the reporting period accounts for Baku - 58.0%. In addition, 9.7% was registered in Gabala, 5.5% in Gusar, and 4.1% in Guba and other districts.
