Economy Minister: Economy shows stability, despite decline

December 23, Fineko/abc.az. The economic stability is keeping in Azerbaijan under conditions of the global crisis caused by the coronavirus pandemic.

ABC.AZ reports that Economy Minister Mikayil Jabbarov said this at a meeting of the Parliamentary Committee on Economic Policy, Industry & Entrepreneurship.

The minister noted that the country's economy has demonstrated high stability despite the contraction of the economy.

He noted that in the non-oil sector GDP is expected to decline by 2.9%: "During the quarantine period there was a decrease of 7.6% in the commodity and consumer markets. Over Jan-Nov the investments made up 4.6%. This figure increased by 8.4% in the oil and & sector. GDP is projected to decline by 4% by the end of the year.”
