December 18, Fineko/abc.az. Azerbaijan has defined a new procedure for collecting road tax on cars registered in foreign countries.

ABC.AZ reports that this is reflected in the proposed amendment to the Customs Code adopted at today's session of the parliament.

According to the current Customs Code, the road tax is collected by the customs authorities from motor vehicles registered in foreign countries upon entry into the customs territory, and is transferred to the State Budget within one banking day.

From now on, customs authorities will collect the road tax at customs border checkpoints or at customs clearance points from a motor vehicle registered in a foreign country, when the car enters and leaves the customs territory.
