October 20, Fineko/abc.az. The Central Bank issues banknotes in denominations of 1, 5 and 50 manats with an updated design and advanced security systems.

According to information ABC.AZ received from the Central Bank, at present, the system and design of protection of 1, 5 and 50 manat banknotes have been updated by the Central Bank, using the latest technologies and innovations within the existing concept.

The banknotes will be put into circulation on 1 January 2021. The current banknotes in denominations of 1, 5 and 50 manats will be in circulation in parallel with the updated banknotes and will be used as a means of circulation without restrictions.
