July 7, Fineko/abc.az. Taking into account the needs for electricity generation, water potential and water scarcity in our country, we’re preparing our strategy for the development of small hydroelectric power plants. And the development of this sphere with the involvement of the private sector is one of the main goals.

ABC.AZ reports that this statement was made by Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov at an event attended by representatives of the Ministries of Energy, Ecology & Natural Resources, Azernerji, SNC-Lavalin's Atkins, BP and the British Embassy in Azerbaijan.

At the event BP's Regional President for Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey, Gary Jones, said that Azerbaijan has rich hydrocarbon reserves. He noted that, thus, the government's policy on energy transition deserves approval.
