Chief infectologist: Non-infected COVID-19 can go to districts for 1 month

June 17, Fineko/abc.az. Although there is a disturbing fact about coronavirus in Azerbaijan, the number of infections is not so great.

Our country has the population of 10 million people, and the number of infections is 0.1%. Despite that, there are a number of issues that concern us.

ABC.AZ informs with reference to news agency report that the relevant statement was made by Jalal Isayev, chief infectious disease specialist of Azerbaijan and a member of the Cabinet Ministers’ Operational Staff.

He also spoke about the mass trip of Baku residents to the country's districts during the days of strict quarantine.

According to Isayev, it is necessary to create conditions for such trips of people: "Some people are either not working, or are on vacation and want to go to the district. You need to create conditions for them. Naturally, the necessary mechanism should be prepared for this. This will reduce the number of people in Baku. Those who are not infected with the coronavirus can go to their homes in the districts for 1 month. It's worth thinking about. It is wrong to forcibly keep people in Baku. Because they also tend to go out on the street. This is, of course, my subjective opinion. To do this, you should analyze the situation in the country and make a decision. In Baku, the risk of infection is higher compared to the districts, since the population density in the districts is lower than in the capital."
