January 31, Fineko/abc.az. The number of salary cards increased by 276,000, while the number of credit cards declined by 63,000 in Azerbaijan last year.

ABC.AZ reports with reference to Central Bank’s statistics that the total number of payment cards in Azerbaijan reached 7.266 million at the end of 2019.

According to the report, compared with the end of last November, the total number of payment cards grew by 59,000 in December. So, at the end of November the total number of payment cards amounted to 7.207 million.

The total number of payment cards for January increased by 39,000, in February by 74,000, in March - no increase, in April by 97,000, in May by 247,000, in June by 43,000, in July by 121,000, in August by 77,000, and in September by 58,000. In October the total number of payment cards decreased by 130,000. The decline was caused by a reduction in the number of social cards. It is noted that the reduction in the number of social cards was due to the expiration of agro-cards. Besides, this year the farmers will be issued a new farm card for receipt of subsidies.
