October 1, Fineko/abc.az. According to the statistics published by the Financial Markets Supervision Authority, as of 31 August 2019 Azerbaijani banks’ total assets amounted to AZN 30.269 million and total liabilities AZN 25.655 bn. The balance sheet capital of the sector reached AZN 4.613 bn.

According to the statistical report, loan portfolio made up 44.7% of the sector's assets in August. For the past month the loan portfolio increased by 1.4% (AZN 184.1 million) and amounted to AZN 13.526 bn as of 31 August 2019. 61.5% of the loan portfolio consists of business and 38.5% - consumer loans. During the month the consumer loans grew by 2.4% and business loans by 0.8%. 45.7% of assets are foreign currency assets. 34.8% of the loan portfolio is in foreign currency.
