October 30, Fineko/abc.az. Azerbaijan Railways CJSC (ADY) continues work within the State Program on improvement of the transport infrastructure in Baku and surrounding areas.

Bakhtiyar Hajiyev, the Head of the Public Relations Department at ADY, said in a statement to journalists that the Program, along with the Bakikhanov–Bina–Gala, Zabrat–Mashtaga–Baglar and Garadagh–Guzdek lines, also provides for the restoration of railway line Yeni Surakhani–Govsan.

An analysis of the road infrastructure has already been carried out along these lines and design work has begun.

According to Hajiyev, the design work on the Yeni Surakhani –Govsan line has been completed by 30%.

111 owners of residential and non-residential facilities located in the protected area and subject to construction have been registered along this line, relevant protocols have been signed with them and compensation has been paid.

Currently, the demolition of the objects included in the security zone has been completed, and fencing work has begun to ensure traffic safety.

The location of stations along the line has also been clarified. A total of 4 stations are to be built or restored in the Yeni Surakhani–Govsan direction, 3 of which will be located on the territory of Govsan. Pedestrian crossings are planned at each station, as well as multi-level bridges at intersections with highways.
