October 28, Fineko/abcnews. In order to increase transparency and prevent abuses in the rules for giving mortgage loans, amendments have been made to the rules for giving mortgage loans at the expense of the Azerbaijan Mortgage & Credit Guarantee Fund.

According to the amendment, persons who are tenants under the current lease agreement with the Fund under the lease mechanism with the obligation of subsequent sale will not be able to use a mortgage loan as the main borrower.

In addition, SIMA Imza facial recognition technology will be used when applying for mortgage loans. Citizens will be able to confirm their applications using the digital signature biometric identification function.

To date, authorized banks have issued about 61,000 mortgage loans for totally 4.185 bn manats at the expense of the AMCGF. Youth and young families accounted for 67% of loan recipients.
