October 29, Fineko/abcnews. Energy giant Shell reported a 99% year-on-year surge in net profit for the third quarter of 2026, reaching $10.81 billion and beating consensus forecasts ($10.33 billion).
According to official financial results, integrated gas operations contributed $3.04 billion to total earnings, while upstream oil and gas extraction generated $3.19 billion. The profit spike was primarily driven by record refining margins and elevated liquefied natural gas (LNG) prices.
Following strong quarterly performance, Shell CEO Wael Sawan announced a new $5 billion share buyback program to be executed over the next three months.
