Gold Drops to $4,010 Ahead of Upcoming Fed Interest Rate Decision

10:24 - 27.10.2026

October 27, Fineko/abc.az. Gold prices slid on Tuesday as investors maintained a cautious stance ahead of the US Federal Reserve’s upcoming monetary policy decision this week.

Spot gold fell 0.2% to $4,010.39 per ounce, while US gold futures dipped 0.4% to $4,023.57. Although diplomatic efforts to de-escalate US-Iran tensions provided slight relief to energy markets, persistent inflation fears driven by high energy costs continue to weigh on precious metals.

Elsewhere in commodities, silver slipped to $53.96, and platinum eased to $1,529.27. Market participants are now closely awaiting Wednesday's Fed decision for future monetary policy cues.
