October 28, Fineko/abc.az. As of October 1, 2026, Azerbaijan's overall public debt totaled 23.896 billion manats, which corresponds to 17.3% of GDP projected for 2026, the Ministry of Finance informs.

Of the total national debt, 7.67 billion manats, or 32.1%, accounted for external debt and 16.23 billion manats, or 67.9%, accounted for domestic debt.

Since the beginning of the year, the external public debt decreased by $304 million and the internal debt by 1.574 billion manats.

By the end of 2025, the ratio of public debt to GDP was 20.1%. This indicator declined by 2.8 percentage points.
