US Extends Sanctions Waiver for Lukoil’s Overseas Gas Stations

10:07 - 16.10.2026

October 16, Fineko/abc.az. The US Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) has extended the sanctions waiver allowing operations, maintenance, and wind-down activities for Russian oil giant Lukoil’s gas stations outside Russia until April 24, 2027.

The decision follows US President Donald Trump’s meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin on October 9, where an agreement was reached for Russia to supply diesel fuel to the US and global markets.

Last week, the Treasury Department also issued a license permitting transactions involving the sale, delivery, and import of Russian-origin diesel until April 7, 2027.
