September 1, Fineko/abc.az. Turkish companies are interested in establishing renewable energy equipment production in Azerbaijan.
According to ABC.AZ, the information was released by the State Agency for Renewable Energy Sources under the Ministry of Energy.
A meeting with members of the Turkey-Azerbaijan Business Council of the Foreign Economic Relations Board of Türkiye (DEİK) was held on August 31 at the State Agency for Renewable Energy Sources (BOEMDA) under the Ministry of Energy. The meeting was attended by Business Council Chairman Selçuk Akat, as well as representatives of Turkish companies operating in the oil, construction, banking, advertising, energy and other private sectors.
Speaking at the meeting, Business Council Chairman Selçuk Akat noted that in recent years, particular importance has been attached to the development of green energy in Azerbaijan's energy sector. He highlighted initiatives put forward in this area as part of COP29, as well as areas of activity reflected in state and regional development programs. Noting that Turkish companies have extensive experience in renewable energy, he expressed interest in further expanding cooperation with Azerbaijan in this field.
BOEMDA Director Javid Abdullayev thanked the participants for their interest in the green energy sector and provided detailed information on the work carried out in Azerbaijan in the field of renewable energy, implemented projects, power plants already in operation and under construction, as well as future plans.
Javid Abdullayev noted that Turkish companies are successfully participating in the implementation of a number of renewable energy projects, particularly those being carried out in the Karabakh and Nakhchivan economic regions. He also said that the photovoltaic panels used at solar power plants under construction in Nakhchivan are supplied from Türkiye.
