August 27, Fineko/abc.az. Saudi Arabia's strategic push toward nuclear energy is set to reduce domestic oil consumption for power generation, freeing up larger volumes for export. The recently signed "Section 123 Agreement" between the US and Saudi Arabia establishes a legal framework for bilateral civil nuclear cooperation.
By 2030, the share of oil in Saudi Arabia's power generation is expected to plunge from 37% in 2025 to just 6%. Shifting domestic energy demand toward nuclear and renewable alternatives will allow the Kingdom to enhance its hydrocarbon export capacity and strengthen its global market position.
