August 28, Fineko/abc.az. Qatar has reportedly extended the force majeure period on liquefied natural gas (LNG) supplies to buyers in Europe and Asia for another month.

According to sources, state-owned QatarEnergy notified buyers across Asia and Europe that LNG shipment cancellations would continue into October and early November. The decision follows security risks in the Strait of Hormuz after attacks on fuel tankers in July.

Amid the sharp reduction in LNG flows through the Strait of Hormuz, natural gas prices in Europe and Asia have nearly doubled compared to pre-conflict levels.
