August 26, Fineko/abc.az. Kazakhstan’s Kondensat oil refinery, located in the West Kazakhstan region, is set to begin processing crude oil supplied from the Russian Federation.

According to Deputy Minister of Energy Erlan Akkenzhenov, the refinery will export 70% of the refined petroleum products back to Russia, while the remaining portion will offset processing costs or support domestic supply.

The official highlighted that the processing request originated directly from the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation. The Russian side approached Kazakhstan to utilize its refining infrastructure amid domestic fuel supply constraints and refining capacity adjustments. For Kondensat, which has operated below capacity for years due to local crude shortages, the agreement provides crucial feedstock to restore operational efficiency.

Key operational terms of the refining agreement:

• Refining Facility: Kondensat Oil Refinery (West Kazakhstan Region)

• Fuel Return Rate: 70% of processed petroleum products returned to Russia.

• Initiator: Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation.
