August 3, Fineko/abc.az. Kazakhstan is discussing with Russia the possibility of processing Russian oil at Kazakhstan's oil refineries.
Reuters reports, citing the Kazakh Ministry of Energy, that speech is about processing raw materials from the Russian Federation with the subsequent sale of petroleum products on the domestic market and the export of part of the products back to Russia.
The Ministry explained that the purpose of negotiations is to ensure stable loading of the capacities of domestic refineries, preserve jobs and guarantee the supply of the domestic market with fuel. The specific processing volumes and terms of cooperation have not yet been disclosed.
Negotiations are taking place against the backdrop of a fuel crisis in Russia caused by damage to key oil refineries as a result of Ukrainian drone attacks.
