July, Fineko/abc.az. In June, China's gold imports reached their highest level in two years amid a drop in global precious metal prices and strengthening of the yuan.
According to customs data, foreign purchases of gold rose to around 173 tons in June, marking a third consecutive month of growth and reaching a high since March 2024.
China-based Jinrui Futures precious metals analyst Zijie Wu noted that the decline in prices was seen by investors as a winning point to enter the market.
In this regard, country's commercial banks actively replenished their reserves to support accumulation programs and retail sales of physical gold.
