July 10, Fineko/abc.az. The Asian Development Bank (ADB) downgraded its forecast for Armenia for 2026 due to deteriorating expectations in Armenia amid recent Russian trade restrictions, weak economic growth in Turkey in the first quarter, and increased spending in Turkmenistan because of alternative trade routes around Iran.
Armenia's economic growth forecast for 2027 has been reduced to 5.5% because of long-term consequences of the conflict in the Middle East and the negative impact of trade restrictions on economic prospects.
The forecast for Turkey has also been lowered due to rising fuel and fertilizer prices, as well as a poor external economic environment that negatively affects industry and exports.
