UAE to build a new pipeline bypassing Strait of Hormuz

June 11, Fineko/abc.az. The UAE National Oil Company (ADNOC) plans to construct a new multi-fuel pipeline bypassing the Strait of Hormuz, the Financial Times informs with reference to ADNOC’s Executive Vice President of Trading and Sales Philippe Khoury.

ABC.AZ reports that this project will allow the Emirates to continue exporting petroleum products smoothly even in the event of a complete blockage of this strategic sea route.

Response to the global crisis: ADNOC's decision is dictated by the acute fuel crisis that has engulfed the global economy since the closure of the Strait of Hormuz. The stop of shipping occurred against the background of the outbreak of war between the United States and Israel against Iran.

Reducing dependence on Tehran: The blocking of one of the key hubs of the global oil and gas logistics forced the Arab monarchies of the Persian Gulf to urgently look for alternative routes in order to fully protect their exports from Tehran's control.
